– Eco-friendly, rustic, shabby chic…A Wedding Versatile fabric

Rustic, Cowboy inspired, Vintage…call it what you may, but burlap, cottons, muslin, and lace are finding their way into many weddings. With the versatility and sustainability, green brides and shabby chic brides are finding new and inventive ways to add these fabrics into their big day

BurlapCollage

Burlap, cotton and linen favor bags are great for small and large wedding gifts, silverware holders. Simple and rustic ideas for flower girl baskets or holders for ceremony or reception flowers. Burlap goes well with rustic, vintage, shabby chic, beach or country themes but can also be used as a combination piece with modern and clean lines such as seen in beach, nautical themes, Fall or even Spring themes.

Remember that burlap comes in many shades. Weave patterns sometimes differ,  so try to make sure you get it all from the same stock if possible. Burlap works well with twine, lace, ribbon, pearls and shells. You can see the different shades and weave density throughout the article pictures below to help you decide what might work best for your wedding day theme.

 DIY TIP

Burlap is sometimes referred to as Jute. You can dye the material to meet your theme colors and give it a little extra pizzazz.

After wedding uses include potpourri sachets, jewelry or coin purse
